Meet Rachelle

As an educator myself, I know firsthand how important it is to ensure that teachers feel heard, supported, and valued. Teachers are the people spending time with our community's children for the majority of their waking hours, Monday through Friday. As a result, a child's quality of education is directly impacted by the mental and physical well-being of the staff at their schools.

Right now, there are educators working in the Newhall School District who can't even afford to live in the area they diligently serve. In order for our district to remain the gold standard, we need to ensure that we are attracting and retaining high-quality educators by making sure they have the resources, training, and support that they need to be successful.

As a member of the School Board, I will continue to bring the voices of students, parents, and educators to the table to improve student experiences across the district. My vision is to make this school district even better for our children.

What we're fighting for:

🎨
Preparing our community's children for the future

In addition to being a fierce advocate for art programs, I will fight for fair funding and responsible stewardship of our district's funds to ensure our community's children have the cutting-edge resources they need to succeed across all subjects, whether they're passionate about marine life or local history.

💚
Promoting student wellness and safety

I am a strong supporter of creating wellness centers at all campuses, improving student-to-counselor ratios, emphasizing socio-emotional learning to encourage students to manage emotions healthily, parental educational programs regarding firearm safety and storage, and maintaining school facilities to ensure student safety.

👩‍🏫
Valuing our teachers

It's simple: the people who work for the Newhall School District should be able to afford to live in the district. When educators are truly appreciated — when they are treated with respect and compensated fairly for their specialized, difficult work — they shine in the classroom. Educators should be able to focus on student success without having to worry about whether they can afford rent, and I'm committed to ensuring those who work daily with our students are well-supported.

🏛️
Creating a more responsive, transparent Governing Board

I know from my experiences in the classroom that the quality of a child's education improves best when all stakeholders are brought together in conversation. As Trustee, I will bring the voices of students, parents, and educators to the table to create a more responsive Board and, ultimately, to improve student experiences across the District.
